Analyzing & Correcting Swing Flaws DVD
FFor any softball athlete, unable to consistently learn proper hitting and resolve those stubborn swing flaws… this 3 ½ hour program will change the sport for you. Like 3 dvds in one, the first two hours extensively break the swing down into 3 drillable parts… using today's top pro hitters as demonstration models…. Explained in such fine detail, any lingering questions on how the swing works and what mental aspects need to be focused on…are answered . Using high speed camera's and graphic overlays, we address and clarify swing facts and focus's. Once the mechanics are better understood, we spend the next hour, introducing a progressive series of drills that start with no equipment, progress thru tee work, soft toss and finally culminate with live bp. These drills can be done daily and will teach you in steps… the proper swing mechanics…You'll learn how a rotational based natural power swing can allow you to swing strongly with solid base mechanics…so the swing tempo, timing and speed never need to change….thus bringing consistency to our base swing….Next we learn that by aiming at the top, middle or bottom of the ball, we can easily change our swing angle and develop the ability to hit the top half or bottom half of the ball …creating top spin or under spin… with up to an 85% consistency. When you learn to expand your POC, (point of contact), and can place these powerful hits to open areas of the defense…. batting .800 and higher becomes an attainable goal.
After the drill section, we introduce simple ingenious hitting tools we have invented. You can make these yourself… for only a few dollars… and they enhance drilling, practice and on deck preparations. We also explain a series of specialized drills that will be used to isolate and correct stubborn swing flaws and to reinforce the correct muscle memory…and we show specific drills and equipment that improve bat speed and resistance train your swing muscles.
Next… its the swing flaw analysis section. We explain the 3 most common swing flaws and why they happen. Once you can identify and understand these breakdowns…we introduce effective techniques and drills to correct these breakdowns. Combining both a mental AND physical approach…using visualization, and specialized drills…we are able to finally understand and correct these stubborn flaws. But you will find, that with the better understanding of the swing mechanics, and after we show how to video your own swing and what to watch for in slow motion….you will be able to identify what sections are flawed..what personal breakdowns are causing your swing problems …and finally how they can be corrected by drilling those segments.
We explain how different focus's of triggering the swing, will deliver the same natural power swing….and since our minds work a bit differently, you will understand how even the pros vary the way they mentally trigger the same rotational based swing using one of 4 different mental focus's….
To show real life examples of flawed swings and how they fixed them, we introduce 8 Inspiring extreme before and after stories….featuring a wide range of male and female athletes…at varying age and skill levels…We worked with these hitters over the past 2 years and helped them correct a variety of swing flaws…watching as some overcame physical obstacles in their path…From loss of vision in one eye, to a full hip replacement, these athletes have excelled in the sport..
This program progresses in a logical manner and runs so seamlessly , that the flow and progression of this fascinating 2 ½ hrs of instruction will fly by quickly and leave those hungry to improve, pumped up and ready to go..
In part 2, the last hour, we break completely from any editorial comments from our staff, and we simply listen to the best 8 Pro hitters in today's game…as each all world hitter, gives an in depth profile on what personal focus, training, and swing flaw corrections they use to keep on top of their game. You will be sure to relate individually to several of these hitters and be surprised to hear of the bad streaks and nervousness that they feel before every game. Even though they are the best in the game, its amazing to see how they face the same problems we do, just at a different level of play. Next some of the top A and amateur hitters in the game, explain how a small but highly significant change they made in hitting, has raised their game to a higher level of improvement… To finish this segment, the top 3 pro, amateur and senior pitchers in the nation…lead by Andy Purcell…tell you HOW to beat them at their own game..giving tips on what hitters can do to get the edge on a good pitcher. Ken's wrap-up with the innovative Poor mans batting cage…covers a variety of topics and innovative methods of training.
Part 3 is an inspirational look at how softball really starts after 40. While many drift away from the game in their 30s, citing old age and family commitments….this is truly a great game we can re introduce ourselves to and play our entire life… Organizations like the SSUSA have provided a base of regional, national and world tournaments, at 5 year increments with varying skill levels…allowing senior athletes from 40 to 100 plus... to continue the game forever. We start by visiting with 3 senior legends of the game..Larry Carter, Don Clatterbaugh and Mike Macenko…now from their late 40s to early 60s..and we find out what has given them the ability to continue to play at such a high level…Listen as Clatta describes his streak…89 at bats in senior tournament play…without making an out…and done at the age of 60! Macenko, the king of all homerun hitters, details his 6 year exodus from the game and how he is getting back into shape and killing the ball at 51 years old…. Finally we introduce the senior bomb squad…traveling nationally, from Florida to California, meeting top senior sluggers …including powerful 89 year old Dinny Watson and the nations fastest senior speedster…81year old, Joe Sugimoto… The show climaxes with 5 seniors in Seattle, Wa…..attempting to reach the 2 story café, located beyond left field at the Russell Road complex….at…360 -380 feet away and 25 feet high…we'll see if 71 year old, Jim "Crusher" Douglas can provide enough horsepower to deposit a ball into the dining area and disturb the patrons enjoying a nice lunch….Truly an inspiring segment …showing how softball can continue to be a lifelong activity. |
